Dubai presents itself as the dream of a city, growing into infinity,upwards and outwards. It has the financial means, it can afford it. However, although under constant construction, reality seems to have been sacrificed. Social extremes, invisible to the naked eye, remain. This is a conscious intention. The megalomania of this city is a mere simulation because Dubai advertises what it is not.
The intention of this photo series is to look behind the scenes ofsuperficial pomp and document the social nightmare of the invisible underdogs – those people who are responsible for keeping this fictional dream alive.
